Zambrero introduces new Power Burrito
The burrito features black rice flour tortilla jam packed with superfoods. For every Power Burrito purchased a meal will be donated to someone in need through Zambrero’s Plate 4 Plate initiative. The Plate 4 Plate initiative is the core of Zambrero; for every bowl or burrito purchased at all 150 restaurants, a meal is donated to someone in need facing habitual food insecurity in the developing world. “With the launch of the Power Burrito, we want to encourage people to try something new and cater to the ever-evolving demand for healthier options as well as those with different dietary considerations like gluten free. Equally as important it means we can add another option to our menu that supports our Plate 4 Plate initiative, the heart and soul of Zambrero, helping us get even closer to our goal to end world hunger” CEO of Zambrero Karim Messih said. The Power Burrito is part of Zambrero’s Power Range and offers a variety of benefits from the superfoods it incorporates, including amaranth, spirulina and black rice. It contains over 60% of the recommended daily protein intake and one and half servings of the five recommended daily vegetables serves. It is also 100% gluten free, with the gluten free black rice tortilla also available for the classic and IQ burrito ranges. “Our Power Burrito really defines Zambrero’s commitment to innovative healthy choices that brings completely new products to the quick service restaurant industry. We have spent over two years and tested 136 recipes to develop a super food black rice tortilla that is gluten free. We believe that the new superfood tortilla is unmatched in terms of ingredients and flavour. By Zambrero increasing its healthier, fresher menu items, this provides the customer with more exciting and exclusive choices of great tasting food that is better for you.” Perry Josito, Global Procurement and Product Development Manager at Zambrero said. The new and exclusive Power Burrito is now available at all Australian Zambrero restaurants.
