Pizza Hut Australia brings to life a SpongeBob SquarePants dessert
The new dessert is an inspiration from a SpongeBob SquarePants episode.
Pizza Hut launched a new ice cream made with dill pickles, mustard, and bacon as part of its SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired menu.
Called the Dill Pickle Mustard Swirl & Bacon Bits Ice Cream, the new dessert was inspired by an episode in the animated series where Patrick, the titular character’s best friend, ordered one from an ice cream truck for SpongeBob.
Along with the limited-time only menu are other SpongeBob-inspired items like the SpongeBob Pizza made with tangy pineapple and sweet chilli drizzled on top of smoky honey ham, beef, onion and mozzarella on a tomato base and the SpongeBob Sweet Chilli Wings, a tangy pineapple, sweet chilli with a little spicy kick of jalapeno.

Other items on the menu are the Pineapple Sunrise Ice Cream and the new Fanta Pineapple No Sugar drink.
The new menu was launched following a taste-testing session where 30 lucky Aussies managed to try the new range before its launch.
This is not the first time Pizza Hut has created a Spongebob-inspired product. In 2021, it created a Spongebob-themed sauce made of pineapple, jalapeno and sweet chilli. It also challenged consumers to come up with the name for the sauce.
“We are delighted to partner with the folks at Paramount Consumer Products again, and in our third year of partnership with them, we think we’ve created the best menu items yet. Above all else, the new menu items are designed to create good times with loved ones, whether that be out and about with your mates, or at home with your family. The secret tasty test we did last week has given us a lot of confidence our new range will be very well received by Australians,” Director of Marketing & Digital, Pizza Hut Australia, Simon Stocks said.
The new SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired menu is available as either individual menu items or as a bundle via Pizza Hut’s signature 3+3 offer, priced from $35.95 pick up (plus $6.95 to add a tub of ice cream). The tangy pineapple sweet chilli drizzle can also be added to any pizza on the menu for $1.
