Pizza Hut to launch SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired sauce
The pizza chain is giving customers the opportunity to name the new product.
Pizza Hut announced the upcoming launch of a sauce inspired by popular Nickelodeon character SpongeBob SquarePants, and is giving customers the opportunity to name it.
To submit an entry, customers are encouraged to head to Pizza Hut’s website and click on the ‘Name The Sauce’ tile on the ‘Offers’ page. Entries will close on July 28 and the winner will be announced on August 4.
The winner will also be the first in the country to experience the new sauce on a Pizza Hut feast, a one-of-a-kind SpongeBob Spatula trophy and a framed poster featuring their named sauce.
Made of pineapple, jalapeno and sweet chili, pizzas ordered with the sauce will be served up in a selection of re-designed SpongeBob SquarePants pizza boxes, recalling different scenes from the show. The pizza boxes will also have exclusive QR codes to get 50% off all download-to-own SpongeBob SquarePants episodes on YouTube and access to extra exclusive digital content, all of which will be available from August 9.
The sauce will be available to add on every pizza for an additional $1 and at no extra charge to drizzle on chicken wings. Customers who order the SpongeBob sauce online until mid-September will get the chance to enter into a competition to try and win SpongeBob-related prizes every week.
The promotion is part of Pizza Hut Australia’s ongoing partnership with ViacomCBS Consumer Products. Earlier in March, the companies collaborated on a green ‘Mutagen Ranch’ sauce inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series.
