Subway takes aim at burger chains on World Burger Day with value-led Footlong push
The brand is giving away free sides with each footlong purchase.
Subway took aim at burger chains on World Burger Day, positioning its Footlong as a value alternative to the burger and offering app users a free side with any Footlong purchase from 28 to 30 May.
The promotion is part of a broader value play from the chain as cost-of-living pressures continue to reshape how Australians spend on food.
"At a time when value is more important than ever, the Footlong stays legendary," said Rodica Titeica, Senior Director of Marketing for Subway ANZ.
On 3 June, Subway will follow up the promotion with two limited-time spicy subs, a Korean-Style BBQ Steak and a Peri Peri-Style Chicken, continuing a run of bold, globally inspired flavours aimed at keeping the brand relevant with younger consumers through winter.
Subway also reconfirmed that a new loyalty programme is in development following the announcement of the removal of the Subcard loyalty programme on 31 August 2026. App users are able to access exclusive in-app offers in the interim.
