Gami Chicken expands with new Albury restaurant
The new restaurant is being launched by local operator Stuart Fontana.
Gami Chicken has opened its new restaurant in Albury, marking its first foray into the border region.
The chain, which specialises in Korean fried chicken and fast-casual dining, says it expects to reach $60m in revenue by the end of 2025, with growth coming from new store openings and menu innovation.
Executive director Jun Lee linked the rising popularity of Korean food in Australia to the global spread of K-pop and the wider “Hallyu” cultural wave, saying the company’s Korean Delights range had recorded a 60% jump in sales over the past year.
“With restaurants in five cities across Australia, we are now poised to achieve 23% year-on-year in-store revenue growth and expand to 7 locations by mid-2026,” Lee said.
The Albury restaurant is being launched by local operator Stuart Fontana and will feature a new “K-Street” menu including cupbap, tteokbokki, army stew, bulgogi hotpot, and the brand’s fried chicken platter.
