Banjo’s fine-tunes its service with Tork
Banjo’s Bakery Café is a fast and furious franchise operation, where stores are high traffic, quick turnaround businesses and every second counts.
Not surprisingly Banjo’s Purchasing and Logistics Officer, Roberto Donoghue is impressed with Tork® Xpressnap® and Hand Towel solutions.
“We’ve got 36 stores - and growing - across Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland,” says Donoghue. “Condiment stations are high traffic and can get really messy if people are grabbing handfuls of napkins. I spotted Xpressnap at the airport and then again at an iconic Quick Service Restaurant. Such a great system – we had to have them.”
With so many outlets, any reduction in labour and usage for Donoghue is important. Tork Xpressnap Counter and Stand Napkin Dispensers and Xpressnap Natural napkins was the perfect solution. “Seeing the benefits of portion control - the savings sold me. Rather than people grabbing more than they need because they’re in a hurry, they get what they need, no more. Banjo’s employs around 2,500 staff and with a growing number of stores, Donoghue sees the benefits of the Tork Xpressnap high capacity dispenser because it’s easy to load, saving time and reducing labour. “Rather than cleaning up messy stations and refilling dispensers our staff can be doing other more productive things - like baking bread.”
Donoghue also signed up for Tork Matic Hand Towels and the Tork Matic® Hand Towel Roll Dispenser H1 System in Banjo’s kitchens. Paper towels are the safest method of drying hands after washing, reducing bacteria on hands and the Tork Matic ensures you only touch the towel you use. “Tork hand towels have good visibility because they’re blue so staff can’t miss them. Portion control eliminates excess waste as well.”
In the washrooms, Banjo’s has installed Tork Toilet Paper Systems - the Tork Jumbo Toilet Roll Dispenser T1 System and the Tork Mini Jumbo Toilet Roll Dispenser T2 System. Again, large, efficient dispensers are saving time and wastage.
What were the main factors for Donoghue when he decided to change over from his previous supplier to Tork? “Savings, ease of use and environmental impact. Tork ticked all the boxes for us.”
