Uber Eats reveal Australia’s biggest cravings
Ten-piece nuggets and burgers were the most-ordered combo.
Fast-food habits were consistent nationwide, with ten-piece nuggets and burgers emerging as the most-ordered combination of the year, according to Uber Eats Cravings Report.
Zero-sugar soft drink orders more than doubled year-on-year, and matcha orders rose 217% over two years, driven largely by demand in New South Wales. Acai bowl orders also doubled over the same period.
Caffeine consumption remained strong, with millions of coffees ordered across the country. Preferences differed by state: cappuccinos led in NSW, ACT and WA; lattes were most ordered in SA, VIC and TAS; and iced lattes topped orders in QLD and NT.
Hot chips were the top-ordered item in QLD, VIC, TAS and WA. NSW and the ACT ordered the most Pad Thai, while SA and NT favoured garlic bread and naan. Salt was the most common add-on, appearing on more than 13 million orders.
Ice-cream preferences varied across states. Chocolate was the top flavour in NSW, ACT and TAS; choc-chip dough was most popular in QLD and WA; vanilla led in VIC; and SA preferred cookies and cream.
NSW recorded the largest single order of the year at $3,163. Ten-piece nuggets were the most-ordered item on both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
For 2025, Uber Eats reported that it delivered over one billion orders.
