Zarraffa’s Coffee relaunches Peru Ayni Single Origin bean
The bean was first launched in 2023.
Zarraffa’s Coffee has announced the relaunch of the Peru Ayni Single Origin Bean, marking the sixteenth Single Origin evolution for the speciality coffee company - and the first time Zarraffa’s Coffee has revisited a specific bean.
The brand previously partnered with the family-owned coffee producers from Peru’s Quillabamba in 2023.
The partnership saw Zarraffa’s fund the installation of raised drying beds and stock housing for the Jose Olaya Cooperative, with the goal to create sustainable farming practices and empower smallholder farmers in Peru. The initiative is part of the brand’s longstanding commitment to ethical and sustainable sourcing, aligned with its ‘trade, not aid’ approach to working with coffee growers.
“When we first launched Peru Ayni two years ago, our investment in their infrastructure was only just beginning to take effect and it was a relationship we planned to nurture,” said Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO, Marnie Sheldon. “As we return to the region for a second time, we can now see how that early support has been realised, translating into tangible, lasting improvements for these farmers and their communities.”
With a flavour profile of rich baker’s chocolate, vibrant blackcurrant, and the subtle warmth of black tea, Peru Ayni is rounded off with a sweet caramel and smooth nougat finish.
The Peru Ayni Single Origin bean is available in all Zarrffa’s cafes starting 2 June.
