Domino’s CEO to ring The Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange
To celebrate Domino's Pizza International's 50th Birthday celebration, Don Meij will ring The Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today Thursday, 9 December.
Australian Domino's Pizza Enterprise Ltd CEO Don Meij will join four international master franchisees from the United States, India, United Kingdom and Mexico who represent more than half of the brand's international stores.
The first Domino’s Pizza store opened 50 years ago on 9 December 1960 in the US college town on Ypsilanti, Michigan and Domino’s leaders from around the world will commemorate the occasion by ringing The Closing Bell® at the NYSE to end the Thursday trading session.
Don Meij said he was thrilled to have the opportunity to ring the bell at the NYSE to celebrate Domino’s 50th Birthday.
“The 9th of December is a memorable day for any Domino’s team member – it’s when it all began 50 years ago! We’ve come along way since then and to be part of the 50th Birthday celebrations at the New York Stock Exchange is a huge personal milestone for me,” Don said.
“To ring The Closing Bell® with CEOs from some of Domino’s biggest international markets is the perfect way to top off what has been an impressive year for not only our business but for the Domino’s Pizza brand around the world.”
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd and its franchisees have 833 stores across Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium and The Netherlands employing more than 17,000 part-time and full-time staff and making more than 60 million pizzas each year.
Domino’s Pizza (DMP) is Australia’s first publicly-listed pizza chain, making its debut on the Australian Securities Exchange in May 2005.
