GYG drives into Apple CarPlay era with in-car ordering
Orders placed through CarPlay are linked to GYG’s GOMEX loyalty programme.
Guzman y Gomez (GYG) has launched Apple CarPlay ordering in Australia, allowing customers to locate nearby restaurants, select saved orders, pay with stored card details, and collect their meals via drive-thru or counter service without using their phones.
The quick-service restaurant chain said the feature is designed for customers ordering whilst on the move, including during commutes, school runs, and work breaks.
Orders placed through CarPlay are linked to GYG’s GOMEX loyalty programme, with customers continuing to earn points on purchases.
GYG has also introduced the GOMEX Wallet pass for Apple Wallet, allowing customers to access their loyalty card without opening the GYG app.
The pass displays updated loyalty information, including points balances, GYG Dollars, and personalised offers.
Existing app users can add the pass by selecting the barcode scan option and following the prompts.
The GOMEX loyalty card is also available through other digital wallets.
To place an order through GYG on Apple CarPlay, customers must first update the GYG app on their iPhone, connect the device to a CarPlay-enabled vehicle, select GYG from the CarPlay screen, choose a nearby restaurant, and select a saved or recent order.
Payment is completed using stored card details, with order progress displayed on screen.
GYG advises customers to place orders before driving or whilst safely parked.
