Mad Mex announces succession plan, names new CEO
CEO and founder Clovis Young will take on a Managing Director role.
Mad Mex Founder and CEO Clovis Young is taking on a new Managing Director role in the company he founded 16 years ago. Meanwhile, COO Therese Frangie has been promoted into the CEO role, effective from today.
As Managing Director, Clovis will transition into the role that will see him focus on strategy and special projects.
As CEO, Therese will continue to focus on growing the business with new restaurant locations and the elevation of the Mad Mex brand as a premium and authentic Mexican offering in the fast-casual marketplace. Therese has been with Mad Mex for the past six years and has been instrumental in the success of Mad Mex.
Therese will take on the day-to-day operations of the business and continue to focus on growing the business with new store locations and the elevation of the Mad Mex brand as a premium and authentic Mexican offering.
“We have been succession planning for a couple of years. The leadership team and I believe now is the right time for Therese to officially step into the CEO role. I am looking forward to the strategic Managing Director role and know the business will continue its strong growth trajectory,” Clovis said.
The company plans to scale its restaurant footprint to 100 stores by 2026 and has seen same-store sales increase by an average of 25% each month over the last 12 months.
