Muffin Break bags DaVinci Gourmet Coffee Chain Championship

The Foodco-owned bakery cafe brand won first place in this year’s championship in Sydney for the third consecutive time.

Muffin Break was represented by team captain Nina Cosgrove and baristas Celine Kim (Roselands), Helia Valenzuela (Penrith) and Melissa Hall (Moore Park).

Jamaica Blue, also owned by the Foodco Group, came in second place.

“Coming first and second place, for a third year running is such a great feat by our Foodco franchises,” said Jeremy Regan Head of Coffee, Jahnus.

“Our baristas were judged on the core values and skills of our industry and to place first and second for the third year in a row is a testament to our employees and the training systems Foodco operates.

“All of our baristas undergo regular training to ensure top-quality coffee is served at every Muffin Break and Jamaica Blue store every day. We have in-house training programs, run by Simon Au-Yeung, that support our baristas and coffee experts on providing the best possible coffee daily.”

The competition consisted of three intense rounds, where the baristas were tested on their coffee-making and customer service skills.
