Golden Pig & Co is a family business based in Sydney, specialising in premium, allergy-friendly Asian food for food service and retail.
In addition to offering gluten-free and allergy-friendly Asian food, the company also sources fresh, organic ingredients and fully grass-fed and free-range meat from local growers that use sustainable farming methods.
QSR Media: Can you tell us more about your company? What makes it unique?
Golden Pig & Co: We are a husband and wife based company which saw a hole in the market for Allergy Friendly (AF) nutritional asian food. We have two daughters and the youngest developed multiple food allergies from a young age. Eating out or finding ready made allergy friendly dumplings in the grocery store was a challenge, this is when we decided to make our own, and ensuring that we avoided the 8 most common allergic foods. They were such a hit with family and friends that we wanted to share them with others in the same position as us, or just wanted a healthy, great tasting option to what was currently available.
We are proud to be the first company in Australia to offer Gluten Free (GF), Preservative Free, Allergy Friendly Frozen Dumplings for food service and retail.
QSR Media: Can you tell us more about your gluten-free products and the process of making them?
Golden Pig & Co: In sourcing our ingredients we ensure that they are have not been processed in a plant that also processes products which include Gluten. As nutrition in food is just as important as taste, we use organic and sustainably farmed ingredients and we don’t use any MSG, Preservatives or sauces in our food.
Each Dumpling is Hand Made in house, we make our own dough, prepare and mix our own filling, then wrap and blast freeze our dumplings to ensure freshness and quality of our products.
QSR Media: What are people saying about your product?
Golden Pig & Co: Our customers tell us that with our products, you don’t “feel like you’re missing out”. They compare our GF, AF dumplings to restaurant and food service dumplings. Some are thankful about our dumplings. One customer said: “Since being diagnosed as a Coeliac I haven’t had a dumpling in 20 years”.
