McDonald’s to remove McSmart Meal by June
The meal includes a cheeseburger, fries, and a soft drink.
McDonald’s value meal deal, the McSmart Meal, will be removed from the menu by 30 June.
The value meal deal was introduced in 2024 as another affordable meal option beyond the Losse Change Menu.
“Last year, we launched our Year of Value with a 12-month price promise on the McSmart meal and Loose Change Menu, reinforcing our long‑standing commitment to providing reliable, everyday value at Macca’s.
“We know customers have come to love the great value the McSmart meal offers. We’ll share more details on what’s next for McSmart in due course, but one thing is certain: customers will continue to be able to access great value at McDonald’s,” a statement from McDonald’s said.
This comes following a report by the National Australia Bank that showed discretionary spending weakened further in the first quarter. The share of consumers eating out less rose to 60% from 48% a year earlier, whilst cutbacks on food delivery climbed to 42% from 33%.
