New food truck park and bar to open in Melbourne

Welcome to Thornbury, a food truck and beer garden, will open in Thornbury on August 14.

Welcome to Thornbury is the latest venture from the creators of Mr Burger, Homeslice, Brunswick Mess Hall and Fancy Hank’s BBQ Joint.

“We wanted to transform this derelict space into something the area could be proud of. A beautiful park-like environment, where you can enjoy a drink and grub from Melbourne’s best food trucks,” co-owner Daragh Kan said.

Designed by Therefore Studios, the venue references the former mechanical use of the site, whilst drawing on Melbourne design trends. With multiple bars and space for over 700 people, the design offers flexible seating.

The first month will see over 40 different food trucks rotating on a nightly basis, with up to 6 trucks in the park each night. There’ll also be a curated selection of beers on tap and a wide selection of wines, cocktails and craft bottle beers on offer.

From Friday 14th August, Welcome to Thornbury will be open to the public for dinner 7 nights a week, and all day Friday to Sunday.
