The regional champions will be flown to Sydney to compete in the finals on July 27.

Soul Origin has annonced the finalists for their 2018 National Barista and Latte Art Competition.

“We are so impressed with the exceptionally high standard in this year’s competition and look forward to seeing our finalists battle it out for the national title in July,” Soul Origin National Barista Trainer Sam Taylor said.

Finalists will be flown to Sydney on July 27 to compete at Martin Place. They will be critiqued by a panel of judges including former World Barista Championships Head Judge Ross Quail, Australian specialty coffee association President and World Accredited Latte Art judge Brent Williams and the Australian 2018 Latte Art Champion Shinsaku Fukiyama.

The winner of the Soul Origin Barista championship will bag an all-expenses paid trip for two to visit the New York Coffee festival in October. The second prize winner will get a tour of a Coffee farm in northern NSW including education on growing, processing, roasting and development of Coffee farming. The third prize is a tour of Melbourne’s coffee hot spots and an education session at Soul Origin’s coffee roasting and processing facility.

Meanwhile, the first prize winner in Soul Origin’s National Latte Art championship will be flown to Melbourne to receive a personal latte art master class with latte artist Shinsaku Fukuyama.

“We take our coffee very seriously at Soul Origin and are proud to invest in personally training our baristas across all 96 stores. The results speak for themselves with a 10% increase in coffee sales over the past 12 months,” Taylor added.
