Matt Fickling steps down as CEO of Huxtaburger

He spent three and a half years in the company.

Matt Fickling has resigned as chief executive of Melbourne-based Huxtaburger.

“Having spent an amazing 3.5 years with the group it has been an absolute pleasure working with the Board to take a well loved Melbourne hospitality venue to nine stores over three states. A great Melbourne brand that is now national and new age & positive franchisor,” Fickling said in a LinkedIn post.

Fickling joined the brand in 2015 as its general manager before assuming the CEO role. During his tenure, Huxtaburger introduced its first franchisees.

In a previous interview with QSR Media in mid-2017, Fickling said the brand is aiming to have 50 locations within 5 years across Australia. Late last year, the brand signed a 10-store expansion deal for NSW with investment company Yesdac Group.

The brand currently has 9 outlets, including their Huxta GO concept.
