Mad Mex CEO resigns, takes up post at Oporto

Therese Frangie has been with Mad Mex for more than seven years.

Therese Frangie has resigned as CEO of Mad Mex and will be taking up the role of CEO at Oporto.

Frangie held several roles at Mad Mex through the years, starting as the General Manager of Operations in 2017 before becoming the COO.

She was appointed as CEO in 2023 after founder, Clovis Young, took on the role of Managing Director.

In an interview in 2023, Frangie said that she has been in the industry for over 20 years, starting at 15 at KFC before working her way up.

“This week, I rang the bell one last time as I said goodbye to my mis amores at Mad Mex. Closing an incredible (almost) 8-year journey of growth, determination, resilience and a whole lot of fun,” Frangie said in a LinkedIn post.

“As leaders, I often say, “Our job is to help others grow, then let them go.” Now, I apply that lesson to myself. I’m grateful for the opportunities I was given at Mad Mex. The trust of Clovis Young , the support of our Franchisees, and Support Office Teams, they are la familia—a team that has been integral to our growth and success.”

Frangie will take up the CEO position at Oporto in 2025.
