Chris Brown resigns as Macca’s CMO

This follows the resignation of the CEO in February

Chris Brown, CMO & Chief Customer Officer at McDonald’s Australia, has announced his resignation from his role.

In his LinkedIn post, Brown stated that he enjoyed his 4 and a half years at the Golden Arches.

“From Covid to Cyclones, a ‘Cost of Living Crisis’, working with 3 different CEO’s, growing the business to $7.5billion sales, selling 1 in 4 coffees, the successful launch of one of Australia’s most popular loyalty programs, achieving our highest ever brand scores, driving innovation, shaping the overall CX strategy, bringing Grimace to Oz and winning Effies and Cannes Lions,” Brown said in his post.

Annabel Fribence will take over from Brown. Fribence was previously the Senior Brand and Strategy Manager at McDonald’s. She has also worked at KFC and was most recently the Chief Brand and Marketing Officer at Westpac Group.

The news comes after Antoni Martinez, CEO of McDonald’s Australia, announced his resignation from the roll in February.
