Lord of the Fries founders say farewell to the brand

Scott Raggat is appointed as CEO, and Mark's brother Sam Koronczyk will be the Chief Operating Officer.

The founders of the vegan chain Lord of the Fries will be exiting the business, according to co-founder Amanda Leigh Walker.

In an exclusive interview with QSR Media, Walker shared that she felt it was the right time to explore new opportunities, leveraging her skills and experience to support entrepreneurs and businesses as a full-time mentor.

Thank you for sharing the news of your departure from Lord of the Fries.

“While LOTF will always be a significant part of my journey, my true calling lies in business strategy, leadership development, and guiding others to build purposeful, values-driven success,” Walker said. Walker was also the Head of Operations for the brand.

Under Walker’s leadership, Lord of the Fries transformed from a single food van in 2004 into Australasia’s largest plant-based fast-food franchise, boasting 35+ locations across Australia and New Zealand. A trailblazer in vegan fast food, the brand mainstreamed plant-based burgers and fries in Australia. Beyond restaurants, it expanded into retail, bringing its ethical, GMO-free products to supermarkets. With over 500 employees, the company champions sustainability, kosher and halal options, and cruelty-free dining. Its strong brand identity, international menu influences, and ability to navigate industry shifts solidify its position as a leader in ethical fast food.

Mark Koronczyk, co-founder of Lord of the Fries, is also stepping down as CEO to launch a marketing business venture.

Scott Raggat will become CEO, and Mark's brother Sam Koronczyk will be Chief Operating Officer.

The chain has had a challenging year, with the brand’s New Zealand franchising selling the business and the closure of its last NSW store. However, Walker said there are plans for more collaborations and expansions this year through mobile outlets and the launching of retail lines.

"With my 20+ years’ experience scaling Lord of the Fries into an 8-figure multi-location brand, I understand the challenges and opportunities that hospitality entrepreneurs face—whether they're launching, scaling, or restructuring. As a business mentor, my focus is on helping founders and leaders refine their vision, build strong operational foundations, and scale with purpose whilst staying true to their mission. I see my role evolving beyond traditional business coaching into a blend of strategic advisory, leadership development, and mindset coaching," Walker said.
