First shipping container coffee shops open at Brisbane Domestic Airport
A The Coffee Club franchise.
Owned by 25-year old Brisbane entrepreneur George Drivas, the two stores opened just outside of the Virgin and Qantas terminals last 14th June. The coffee shops are recycled shipping containers, the first franchised shipping container coffee stores in Australia, according to the coffee chain.
A third store is due to open at the Brisbane Airport Service Centre later this month.
The inspiration for the latest shipping container stores, according to The Coffee Club Director John Lazarou, came from extensive research and development The Coffee Club constantly does here in Australia and overseas into up and coming cafe scene trends.
"Commissioning Australia's first ever franchised shipping container coffee stores allows the group to recycle shipping containers whilst also providing customers with a contemporary cafe experience. The two new stores at Brisbane Domestic Airport also feature revolutionary sustainable green rooves. These integrate vegetation on top of their industrial build to convert the conventional concrete rooves into environmentally friendly structures."
Adding, "the shipping container stores are fantastic for The Coffee Club brand as it broadens the horizon for us to expand into different retail markets that we previously were not involved in."
He said the group is looking forward to expanding their network throughout the Brisbane Airports.
“We are proud to announce these will be the first franchised shipping container coffee stores in Australia. We pride ourselves on giving franchisees the systems and infrastructure they need to develop their businesses further.”
Adding, “it’s always great to see our franchisees open new stores. George knows these systems inside and out and goes above and beyond to fulfil The Coffee Club’s promise by providing our customers with good food, great service and excellent coffee.”
The three new airport Coffee Club stores will be open seven days a week, from 5am to 10pm.
