QSR Media talks to Fred Pose, Gelatissimo’s Franchise Development Manager, to discuss where the brand is headed for 2016.
QSR Media: Can you tell us more about Gelatissimo?
Fred Pose: Gelatissimo is a fun family brand which is focused on the success of its stores and franchise partners. All our gelato is made at our retail stores by master gelato makers using the highest quality ingredients and real fruit, and we don’t use any artificial colours or flavour.
QSR Media: What do you hope to accomplish for 2016?
Pose: This past year we have opened and confirmed new stores which will open in early 2016 in key strategic locations. We have also expanded our product offer and set some strong foundations for the future development of the brand and the menu. In 2016 we are hoping to maintain all the positive momentum and deliver strong results for our franchise partners.
QSR Media: Regarding locations, any particular places or states you'd like to expand to?
Pose: We are focusing our attention outside Sydney and are about to open our first store in Western Australia which is an extremely exciting step in the development of the brand.
QSR Media: Which areas are attractive to your brand?
Pose: Areas which have a leisure and entertainment aspect.
QSR Media: Can you tell us more about the process which goes behind making the brand's menu options?
Pose: We have an interesting creative process. Our product development team which is made up of people from diverse creative food background along with our management team and franchisee representatives suggest ideas and concepts which we try to create.
QSR Media: What would you like to tell the market about where your brand is strategically headed?
Pose: We are focused on continuing our 4 year strategic development and menu diversification path. We have some very exciting things in the pipeline which will be revealed in the next couple of months
QSR Media: Any other comments?
Pose: The dessert sector in Australia is expanding and that is a great opportunity for us to keep our position as the largest and most successful gelato franchise in Australia.
