Find out more about Espresso Lane and how its drive-thrus are changing how people take their coffee
QSR Media sat down with Martin Stepien, Espresso Lane Coffee Managing Director, to talk about the expansion of the brand and how the perception of drive-thru coffee is changing throughout Australia.
Espresso Lane offers coffee with a blend of four origins: Papua New Guinea, Columbia, Brazil, and India. It is medium roasted to create a taste best described as "a dark milk chocolate orange - caramelised orange citrus with a dominate dark cocoa finish". The brand's coffee machines are Swiss made, designed to ensure that any of its drive-thrus can offer a consistent quality coffee.
QSR Media: What's new at Espresso Lane Coffee?
We have just opened the first NSW store in Tamworth. Opened by Brent Gilmour the Development Agent for NSW.
QSR Media: What particular reasons drew you to open a store in Tamworth? Can your customers expect more NSW stores soon? Are there any other locations you want to expand to?
By the quality of the location. We are in the heart of Tamworth on the busiest intersection in Town. Brent being the Development Agent for Tamworth will begin to focus on opening more stores in NSW.
We have two more locations to open this year and already working on further locations in 2017.
QSR Media: How are your customers reacting?
The response has been fantastic. Tamworth has been our most successful opening so far.
QSR Media: What are the opportunities you see in the market right now? Challenges?
We are seeing customers embracing the Drive Thru Coffee option and embracing the convenience. The Challenge in the past has been that people have been sceptical of the quality of coffee produced at Drive Thru Coffee outlet. That perception is changing fast and showing great potential for the future.
QSR Media: What would you like to tell the market about the direction your brand is strategically headed?
We will continue with our store expansion in VIC, NSW and QLD and have a mix of Drive Thru only and Cafe w/ Drive Thru sites.
