QSR Media discusses with Lisa Cavallaro, the marketing manager for Rashay's Pizza Pasta and Grill, how their brand is changing the definition of casual dining.

QSR Media: Can you tell us any plans that your brand is particularly excited about?

Lisa Cavallaro: Our expansion outside of Sydney! Our customers have been itching for locations on the Central Coast, South Coast and interstate and we are pleased to announce we have now locked in locations in these areas which are opening as early as late 2015 / early 2016!

QSR Media: What do you hope to accomplish before the end of 2015?

Cavallaro: Just to feed as many customers as we can a week! We currently open our doors to 35,000 customers per week and we want to see that reach 100,000 by mid 2016.

QSR Media: Regarding locations, any particular places or states you'd like to expand to? Which areas are attractive to your brand?

Cavallaro: There’s no doubt our brand is the most prominent in the South West of Sydney where the majority of our locations are but we have plans to grow the brand interstate. We have had an overwhelming demand from big retail groups outside of NSW.

QSR Media: What would you like to tell the market about where your brand is strategically headed?

Cavallaro: The casual dining segment has recently boomed and that’s cause the concept is cool, fun, fresh & affordable. We were one of the first businesses in Australia to discover the casual dining gap in the restaurant segment 17 years back. It’s no longer about fancy restaurants with oversized bills. Consumers want value for money & freshly cooked-to-order delicious tasting meals in a timely manner so we’ll be keeping with this winning strategy!
