Store openings up by 26 in last 3 months: report
58 new stores opened and 32 closed during the three-months ending 1 November.
26 additional stores opened during the last three months ending 1 November according to the Fast Food & Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Retail Network Report released by GapMaps, a cloud-based data intelligence platform used by brands to pinpoint optimal locations for its physical stores.
The report shows 58 new stores opened whilst 32 closed.
Amongst the brands tracked, Subway (+10), Dominos (+eight) and Zambrero (+six) led store openings in the quarter, whilst Rosie’s Chicken (-nine), and Nando’s (-five) recorded the most store closures. At a state level, Victoria saw the most store openings with 18, and Victoria also recorded the most closures with 12.
“Despite 32 store closures during the reporting period, we continue to see strong store growth overall, with 58 new premises added,” said Scott Johnson, Senior Analyst at GapMaps.
