Ferguson Plarre's iconic Hot Cross Buns now 100% palm oil free

An effort to reaffirm the brand's commitment to sustainable baking.

Ferguson Plarre's Hot Cross Bun recipe has been improved to now include only whole butter. The chain explained that the replacement of margarine with butter eliminates any trace of palm oil while improving the flavour.

“Ferguson Plarre is a family business with a long history of delivering happiness through delicious baked goods. Using ingredients that support our wonderful planet is a natural extension of this. While ethical sourcing can be commercially challenging, I’m very proud of our continuing efforts to reduce our impact on the environment. Having been a family business for over 100 years, we’re very aware of our responsibility to future generations and this simply means looking after the planet” says 4th generation baker and father, Steve Plarre.
