Brumby prepares for hot cross bun bonanza

Expects to sell more than one million hot cross buns from Brumby’s Bakeries this year, with a quarter of all these due to be sold on “Bun Thursday” (2 April).

Brumby’s General Manager Shonnea Nicol said approximately 600 bakers nationwide had been working hard to perfect the perfect hot cross bun.

“To keep up with public demand, our bakers will be starting as early as 2am on ‘Bun Thursday’, the day before Good Friday. It will be the busiest day of the year for our bakeries as hot cross buns have become such a staple of Australian Easter celebrations."

“Whether you love your hot cross buns crammed with dried fruits and spices, or you crave something sweeter like Nutella or salted caramel, your local Brumby’s Bakery is working hard to deliver the tastiest and freshest hot cross buns this Easter,” she added.
