Beyond Meat ties up with Lord of the Fries for exclusive Oz launch
Lord of the Fries is set to become the first Australian restaurant to bring Beyond Meat burger into its stores.
Backed by the likes of tech titan Bill Gates and Hollywood star and activist, Leonardo DiCaprio (amongst other investors), Beyond Meat has gained a cult following in the US, with the 100% vegan burger said to look, cook and even ‘bleed’ like a regular burger.
Launching across all joints in April, the Beyond Meat burger will be available in LOTF’s original and spicy burger for an additional $3.50. The original burger will come grilled and topped with vegan cheese, lettuce, sliced onion, pickle and Belgian Mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
The spicy burger meanwhile swaps the pickle and sauces for Tabasco tomato sauce, jalapenos and chilli mayo.
“It is an absolute privilege to be the first Australian restaurant to launch this fantastic innovation on our menus,” said LOTF cofounder Mark Koronczyk. “We have no doubt that this burger will be a showstopper among existing and new fans, and we can’t wait to offer everyone this exclusive taste test!”
LOTF's all-inclusive menu is 100% vegan, with low gluten, kosher and halal options. Their menu features locally sourced ingredients and internationally inspired flavours with burgers, hot dogs, shakes, munch boxes and various fries of Classic, Shoe String, Chunky, and Sweet Potato.
Beyond Meat’s entirely plant-based burger is said to offer the textural qualities and appearance of conventional meat, plus just as much protein, less saturated fat and cholesterol, and more iron.
