McDonald's posts positive results in Australia but too bad the rest of the APMEA region (Asia/Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) where comparable sales declined 9.5%.
Reasons cited were the ongoing weakness in Japan and negative results in China due primarily to the shift in timing of Chinese New Year and the residual effects of consumer sensitivity around the recent supply chain issue in the chicken industry.
The APMEA figures more than offset positive results in Australia.
