Zambrero to open first drive-thru in Joondalup
Promises the “Coolest Drive Thru” experience.
Mexican food chain, the Zambrero Group has announced that it will open its first-ever drive-thru restaurant in Western Australia next month on December 12 at 12 noon.
The drive-thru will be located on the corner of Joondalup Drive and Shenton Avenue in Joondalup, 26 kilometers north of the Perth central business district, and will celebrate its opening by giving away “welcome” burritos to its first 1,000 customers.
Strong growth in WA
Zambrero has seen strong growth in Western Australia, according to Western Australian Area Developer for the group Gordon Bain, so it was only natural for the chain to open a drive-thru that will more quickly and more conveniently serve customers their favorite healthy alternative bites.
“Most of us lead very busy lives so having the option to drive through makes picking up a quick lunch or dinner a lot easier,” said Bain.
Of all the locations in Western Australia, Joondalup was chosen strategically as the first drive-thru branch. Bain said the building had previously operated as a drive-thru restaurant. Also, there were no Mexican food options in the immediate vicinity, so the new drive-thru will help Zambrero capture a large untapped market.
“Zambrero will be the first Fresh Mex chain of restaurants to open a drive through store in Western Australia and I am sure that our fresh, healthy and incredibly tasty products are going to be a huge hit with the local market,” said Bain.
Coolest drive-thru
Bain said Zambrero will deliver the “Coolest Drive-Thru” experience in terms of service quality, speed and product excellence. The entire menu will be available to order at the new drive-thru store, and will be delivered quickly.
“Speed of service, combined with our core values ‘Happy, Healthy & Humanitarian,’” will make the Zambrero’s drive-thru popular, said Bain.
Asked on why he thinks Mexican food like those served by Zambrero are ideally suited as drive-thru fare, Bain reckoned: “Our market research shows that the general public are wanting a healthy and tasty alternative to the current drive thru options, in a similar convenient drive thru format.”
“We believe the popularity of the Mexican QSR market is only just beginning to be realised and based on the success of our existing five stores in Leederville, Mount Lawley, Subiaco, Northbridge and enex 100 we are confident that there will be more drive-thru Zambrero stores on the horizon,” he added.
Zambrero said there are plans to open a further six stores statewide within months, and up to 50 stores by 2015. He did not disclose though how many of these will be drive-thrus, only that the company is now actively looking for franchisee partners for their ambitious expansion drive.
