Domino's gears up for delivery expansion

The brand is looking to open 3,000 new delivery jobs as it expands its delivery service.

Domino’s Group CEO and Managing Director Don Meij, said the push for new delivery experts is a result of the focus and innovation of this area of the business.

“We are hugely focussed on delivery and the recent success of our 20 Minute Service Guarantee means customers are reaping the benefits and stores right across Australia are seeing a surge in this area of the business. DRU also received a lot of global interest and while he won’t be taking to the streets tomorrow, our team of delivery experts is expanding and we are looking for people who are eager to join the business and passionate about people,” Meij said.

With a delivery fleet made up of electric bikes (E-bikes), scooters, cars and robots, Meij said that while a lot of the jobs were for drivers, the variety of delivery options available to customers offered new team members diversity in their roles.

“We have over 300 E-bikes in our stores alone so we are not just looking for drivers but for people who want to be active and put pedal power to the ultimate test. Delivery is such a significant part of our business and we are investing more and more in this space to make the experience even more convenient for our customers," Meij said.

“When it’s safe for our staff to deliver the customer’s order in 20 minutes or less customers will be offered the 20 Minute Guarantee. We even have stores doing the unthinkable and introducing a world first in pizza delivery by offering customers a 10minute delivery, made possible through cutting-edge technology and operation efficiency."

“There’s no pre-made pizzas, no pre-saucing, it’s all prepared fresh to order. It’s about being slow where it matters, and fast where it counts. Slow in the careful preparation of your pizza to the placement of fresh, high quality ingredients to faster by cutting cook time in half and safe hustling to reduce customer wait times.”

With 40 new stores set to open throughout Australia and New Zealand in the next six months, Domino’s said that these new stores will also create a number of new jobs.

“The next 10 stores we plan to open are in locations right across ANZ in Walkworth, NZ, Whyalla SA, Noranda WA, Casey ACT, Meadowbank NZ, Pyrmont NSW, Unanderra NSW, Ashburton NZ, Bundaberg East QLD and West Perth WA. We are excited about the growth and opportunities currently available and can’t wait to welcome our latest recruits who will be lighting up their GPS car toppers and pedalling pizza passion right across the Country,” Meij said.
