Taco Bell wants 25 restaurants in New Zealand over the next five years
The chain’s first restaurant in Auckland features an open kitchen and self-serve music kiosk.
Taco Bell’s partner in New Zealand, Restaurant Brands, revealed that they plan to establish at least 25 restaurants in major cities following the launch of its first joint in Auckland on 12 November.
“The broader rollout plan will see a minimum of 25 restaurants trading in New Zealand over the
next five years, with [a] view to launch the next restaurant in Q1 of next year. We are
simultaneously rolling out in NSW & ACT in Australia, with a total estimated spend of $65 million across both markets over the next five years,” Restaurant Brands Group CEO Russel Creedy said in a statement.
The chain, he says, is securing locations within Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, with plans to expand “further afield” in the coming years.
The first Taco Bell restaurant in Auckland features an open kitchen, self-serve music kiosk and offers its global favourites, including the Cheesy Gordita Crunch and Cali Burrito.
Creedy earlier expressed plans to have more than 60 sites by 2024 across Australia and New Zealand.
