Origin Kebabs rolls into China
Qld based Origin Kebabs and Haitong Food Group have established a production and retail joint venture company, Origin Shanghai Restaurant Management.
"After an exhaustive research program covering the world we found that Origin Kebabs to be the most suitable partner for the kind of business we would like to establish in China" said Mr Xiang Zahou; Haitong General Manager Strategy & Development Centre. "Origin's product is far superior to that of any kebab operation we have investigated, store designs are vibrant and cheeky. The service system is quick, which is what is required in a fast and furious growing market like China" he went on to say.
General Manager of the new JV partnership Mr Paul Song commented "We have launched our first store in Channel One shopping mall in Shanghai today and its has exceeded expectations. We are in negotiations with 3 other malls. In total we have planned to open 15 stores by the end of the year and gradually move into the rest of Asia. We expect Origin Kebabs to be a market leader in the quick service restaurant category within 5 years"
Origin Kebabs (Aust) Marketing Director Mr Burhan Goktas said, "China is the fastest growing nation on the planet and she doesn't look like she's about to slow down in the foreseeable future. We have found our new JV partners to be innovative manufacturers and eager to introduce and exploit our brand to Asia, albeit it with a new slogan. A partnership with a manufacturer and a retailer is just perfect."
Goktas went on to say, "The Australian Kebab market is saturated like no other market. It’s bursting from the seams. Unless we merge or acquire another Kebab chain, we see little growth in Australia. So we have set our sights internationally. This is a giant leap for a small Aussie Co., based in QLD".
