Eagle Boys PIzza has released a statement regarding the allegations put forward in the SMH article.
"Eagle Boys Pizza Pty Ltd (Eagle Boys) would like to thank you for the opportunity to respond to allegations published by Fairfax media on Saturday 4 October.
Eagle Boys would like to confirm that the allegations made in the Fairfax article published on Saturday 4 October were misleading and would like to reiterate we are committed to protecting and growing the Eagle Boys brand and supporting our franchisees.
We would like to convey our disappointment in the published article as the story seems to have included a number of isolated and historical, individual incidents that have been linked together in an attempt to do damage to our brand through an embellished story.
Eagle Boys is focused on growing the brand, and as part of our three-year strategy, are committed to spending more than $1 million above the line in the next 12 months. The Eagle Boys national support office has also restructured its internal teams to maximise the AdFund returns and strengthen the operations team to provide franchisees more support at ground level.
Eagle Boys remain committed to protecting the Eagle Boys brand and driving the necessary changes to keep the brand growing in a competitive industry and take damaging allegations very seriously.
As one of the only Australian owned and operated national pizza franchise companies based in Australia, Eagle Boys prioritises the welfare and successful operation of its franchisees and provides them with ongoing support in all areas of marketing, operations, IT, training and general business operations.
Eagle Boys is an active member of the Franchise Council of Australia and is committed to fulfilling its obligations and responsibilities outlined in the Eagle Boys Franchise Agreement and the Franchise Code of Conduct, as regulated by the Australian Government.
A nominated Eagle Boys National Franchise Advisory Council meets regularly to represent all franchisees within the network.
Eagle Boys continually strives to ensure its franchise operations promote excellence within the franchise industry and remains a leader in the highly competitive pizza market. Moreover, Eagle Boys is extremely proud of its network of strong and prosperous franchisees across Australia and their individual contributions to the local communities in which they operate.
Privately owned, Eagle Boys reserves its right not to publicly disclose company statistics including growth, financial and store figures."
