Starbucks Corporation pledges US$100,000 to bushfire victims relief campaign
The chain’s Australian operator would also donate AU$1 from every coffee sold to the Australian Red Cross’ Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
Starbucks Corporation announced it is donating US$ 100,000 (AU$ 145,000) to relief and recovery efforts through its foundation.
Half of the donation will be sent to the American Red Cross to aid its Australian counterpart in its relief missions, whilst the other US$50,000 will go to Ellen DeGeneres’ Australia Bushfire Relief GoFundMe fundraiser, which also supports the Australian Red Cross and wildlife rescue organisation WIRES.
The coffee giant also launched a donation drive through its mobile app in the US.
Moreover, Starbucks’ Australian operator The Withers Group would donate AU$1 from every coffee sold to the Australian Red Cross’ Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
