World-first Krispy Kreme store powered by solar energy opens in Brisbane
The doughnut chain wants more solar-powered outlets in the future.
Krispy Kreme announced the opening of their newest Brisbane store in Acacia Ridge, the chain’s first outlet in the world to generate power from solar panels.
“We are really excited that the Acacia Ridge store will be the first Krispy Kreme store in the
world to source power from solar panels something we hope to continue to develop and
implement in our new store network in the future,” Krispy Kreme Australia chief marketing officer Russell Schulman said in a statement.
Krispy Kreme celebrated the opening by giving away 10,000 of its Original Glazed doughnuts for free in-store.
“Queenslanders have a great love for our doughnuts. A brand-new drive-thru store in Brisbane will make it easier than ever for locals to have a sweet treat on-the-go whether in-store, drive thru or via our delivery options,” Schulman added.
The solar-powered Krispy Kreme Acacia Ridge shop is located at 1180 Beaudesert Road, Acacia Ridge and will be open from 7:30am to 10:00pm.
