Fast Food Store growth up by 31 in past three months to September: report

The report showed 64 stores were launched whilst 33 stores closed.

Store expansion in the fast food and quick service sector continued in the past three months to 1 September 2022, resulting in a net change of 31 stores, according to a report from GapMaps, a location intelligence business.

Its report, which tracked 29 brands in over 6,796 locations, showed that 64 stores opened whilst 33 stores closed.

Amongst these brands, Domino’s Pizza (+11) and Guzman Y Gomez (+5) were at the top for openings whilst Subway (-6), Pizza Hut (-5) and Chicken Treat (-4) recorded the most number of closures.

At a state level, Victoria and New South Wales led  store openings with 21 whilst Victoria also had the most store closures with 9.
