Dragon Hot Pot enters NSW with Sydney flagship launch

Dragon Hot Pot has entered the New South Wales (NSW) market with the opening of its first Sydney flagship in Haymarket, extending its operations beyond Victoria, according to a press release.
The Sydney opening follows the brand’s performance in Melbourne’s fast-casual Asian dining segment and reflects its decision to expand into Australia’s largest consumer market. The company selected Darling Square as its NSW entry point following market analysis and observed consumer demand.
Darling Square sits at the edge of Sydney’s CBD and near Chinatown and attracts high foot traffic from students, office workers and late-night diners. The location allows the outlet to serve both lunchtime and evening demand.
Dragon Hot Pot operates a high-volume, high-margin model supported by an exclusive supply network, a centralised proprietary broth recipe and a pay-by-weight pricing model. The operating structure is designed to support consistent output, reduce food waste and increase average transaction value through customer-selected portions.
The Sydney flagship uses a layout designed to manage peak-period demand, with a structured ingredient-selection flow and interior finishes positioned at the upper end of the fast-casual segment.
Dragon Hot Pot plans to open its first outlet in Japan in 2026.
