Zambrero launches superfood-packed rice bowl

High in protein and packed with nutrients.

Zambrero has launched a new menu item featuring black rice and amaranth, dubbed as the Black Rice Powerbowls. The new item is currently available in all Zambrero restaurants nationwide.

“At Zambrero we strive to create Mexican food that is delicious as well as nutritious,” says General Manager Karim Messih. “It’s a misconception that all Mexican food should be on the naughty list because at Zambrero you can treat yourself to delicious Mexican meals that are healthy enough for the nice list, especially these new super nutritious Black Rice Powerbowls.”

The black rice is exclusively supplied by Australian supplier Forbidden Foods and according to the brand, this specific type is:

Rich in antioxidants – highest of all rice with anthocyanins – the same purple pigments that make blueberries, grapes and acai berries so nutritious
High in iron
Full of protein
High in fibre – twice the fibre of white rice
98% fat free
Low glycemic index – 42.3
Gluten and wheat free and non-GMO
