Lord of the Fries expands partnership with Beyond Meat to exclusively launch plant-based sausage
The sausage is said to have 38% less saturated fat and cholesterol that ordinary meat.
Lord of the Fries announced that they secured their second partnership with US meat-free brand Beyond Meat in selling the Beyond Sausage across all outlets in Australia and New Zealand.
The plant-based offering consists of pea, fava bean and rice proteins and is said to be GMO-free. Customers can also choose between three flavours: Original Bratwurst, Sweet Italian and Hot Italian.
“As the largest 100% vegan fast food joint in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re thrilled to be offering our customers the first bite of another great plant-based innovation,” LOTF co-founder Mark Koronczyk said.
Beyond Meat’s entirely plant-based sausage is said to offer more protein than most conventional sausages as well as 38% less saturated fat and cholesterol than ordinary meat.
