Find out how RFG's new command centre will boost its social media presence

Retail Food Group (RFG) has recently announced that a new digital and social media command centre has been established by the company to further the online growth of its various brand systems.

Below is a Q&A with Sarah Broad, Corporate Communications Manager of RFG.

QSR Media: Tell us more about the new command centre and how it will work.

Sarah: The social media command centre will be operational seven days a week from 9am – 10pm. We have a dedicated team of three who cover the monitoring hours across all our brands that have a presence on social media. It plays an important proactive role in our digital strategy.

QSR Media: What drove RFG to develop its digital and social media platforms?

Sarah: Social media and digital is playing an increasing role with how consumers are interacting with brands so it’s important for RFG to have the right systems and strategies in place to ensure we can have an effective and meaningful digital and social media presence. Convenience is also an important factor for our customers so by having a good digital offering we can be in the place where our customers are.

QSR Media: What are its key benefits?

Sarah: Connecting with customers on a daily basis and proactively keeping up-to-date with online discussion about our brands are the key benefits of our Social Media Command Centre. Benefits of our in-house digital team is the response time to brand marketing briefs and the speed to market.

QSR Media: How effective do you think will this strategy be in your brand’s marketing?

Sarah: By developing a sophisticated in-house Digital Team, each of our Brand Systems can now more effectively include digital elements to their campaigns and fast-track delivery to market.

QSR Media: How big of an influence can presence in social media make in a brand’s development?

Sarah: Australian’s consume social media everyday, it’s the new place to go to for news, events and information about your favourite things. Our social media strategy ensures we can effectively connect with our audience and provide engaging content which helps to keep our brands top of mind.
