Dr Dough Donuts sold to F&B manufacturer Bob & Pete’s

The brand will be expanding beyond donuts.

Online artisanal doughnut brand Dr Dough Donuts was sold to food manufacturer Bob & Pete’s for an undisclosed sum.

“I didn’t sell to walk away, I sold because I believed in what this brand could evolve to with the partnership, I wanted to see Dr. Dough become something even bigger, and I knew that meant partnering with a larger organisation with the resources, infrastructure and reach to take it there” Kristy Valentine, founder of Dr Dough Donuts said.

According to Valentine, the Dr Dough will still retain its original team whilst it prepares for what she calls ‘Dr Dough 2.0’ where the brand will scale faster, reach further, and ‘offer even more of what customers love in fresh, unexpected ways.’

“We’re on the cusp of something really special. I genuinely believe the best of Dr. Dough is still to come,” Valentine said.

Dr. Dough Donuts was founded in 2016 in Australia. The company produces and sells handcrafted donuts, offering same-day delivery across major metropolitan areas. It supplies donuts for a range of occasions, including personal celebrations, corporate gifting, and branded events. Dr. Dough also provides customisation options for both individual and business orders.

Expanded offerings

In an email response to QSR Media, Valentine said she will still continue to operate the business as CEO.

"We are about to expand our range of offerings to our customers in the form of a wider variety of baked goods, including sweet and savoury options," Valentine told QSR Media, when asked about how Dr Dough 2.0 will look. Valentine also said the deal will increase order size and frequency.

"We have some very ambitious plans. Being part of a greater team at Bob and Pete's it allows us to move faster than we could ourselves, and we've already hit the ground running," Valentine said.
