Domino's same-store sales rise 4.1%
The listed company opened 42 new stores.
ASX-listed Domino’s Pizza Enterprises reported a 4.1% rise in same-store sales over the 17 weeks compared to 2.9% in 2019.
At the company's annual general meeting, the company also reported that its network sales increased 10.6% on the prior year, down from 14.7% in the same period last year.
The company has opened its first stores in Denmark and expects to open its first store in Luxembourg in the coming weeks.
The announcement also comes weeks after the 825-strong pizza chain revealed its ‘fortressing’ strategy to reach 1,200 stores between 2025 to 2028.
“We have passed 300 Domino’s branded stores in Germany with the successful conversion of the Hallo Pizza business, and just last week we opened our 400th Domino’s store in France,” Group CEO and managing director Don Meij said.
“We now have more than 1000 Domino’s branded stores in our European business and are well on our way to opening 1000 Domino’s stores each in France and Germany; two large pizza markets that will deliver growth to this business for many years ahead.”
The company has opened 42 new stores through its Australian, Japanese and European networks in the new financial year.
“Through continued digital innovation, operational excellence, and a focus on giving our customers the meal quality, ordering experience and fast service they have come to expect, we believe we are on track for another successful year,” Meij added.
