Zaraffa’s Bi-Costal Expansion Plans

With up to 10 outlets slated for 2014.

Zaraffa’s Coffee, the Australian-owned coffee company with 68 company and franchisee run stores has announced its plans for 2014.

Following the opening of a franchisee run drive-thru store in Cleveland, Brisbane, Executive Director James Barritt has said that they plan to open a further 10 stores this year though the focus for this year will be on building the strength of the Western Australian stores and planning for potential franchise opportunities at both existing and new sites. “We’ve enjoyed a healthy 12 months of trade in the West with a strong customer following and improved operations. Franchising will be an option in this exciting, coffee-loving market”, Mr Barritt was quoted as saying.

As customers desire for convenience grows Barritt also sees potential for further drive-thrus in their store mix. Whilst a common sight in the US, drive-thru coffee stores have been more of a novelty in Australia, but that looks set to change, as Barritt goes on to explain “With the opening of our first store in Townsville late last year there is a clear interest in our products and drive thru convenience by customers and we expect to replicate this as we move further west and north in the state”.
