Grill’d gives away free burgers for Movember’s cause

The healthy burger specialist offers free burgers to Mo Bros & Mo Sistas who have raised more than $40.

It's that time of year again. For the fifth year in a row Grill’d – the healthy burger specialist – will be offering free burgers from 9-18 November to anyone who has raised more than $40 for Movember, according to a Grill'd report.

Last year Grill’d gave away 32,804 free burgers worth more than $350,000 and this year Grill’d believes it will top that effort and give away more than $400,000 worth of burger goodness to Mo Bros and, for the first time, their Mo Sistas (women supporting their partners in the Movember cause).

Registered Mo Bros and Sistas can turn up at any Grill’d restaurant between 2:00pm-3.30pm and 8:00pm-9.30pm and have a free burger – not just on one of the eligible days, but a burger every day if they so desire… and Grill’d burgers make a mo grow. That’s a fact (well, it’s more hearsay than fact).

A restaurant full of moustachioed gentlemen is a sight to behold. To commemorate this unique phenomenon, Grill’d is creating a (not so) Secret Society of Moustachio’d Gentlemen, or the Grill’d Guild. Guild members can, and most probably will, meet at their chosen restaurant on each of the free burger days to discuss moustaches, politics and debate such important issues as herbed mayo versus tomato relish.

Grill’d founder Simon Crowe said “We’ve been a partner of Movember since 2006. It’s a cause we’re passionate about and we look forward to it every year. We hope the lure of 10 free days of Grill’d healthy burgers unites Mo Bros & Mo Sistas to raise more than $40 for a great cause. It’s our unique way of giving something back.”

Movember Founder Travis Garone said “Grill’d and the mo have been doing great stuff since the early days. Each year their support, just like our mo, continues to grow. Grill’d gives Movember gentlemen the chance to get together, grab a burger and raise awareness for men’s health issues.”

In its five year partnership with Movember, Grill’d has given away well over 70,000 burgers all in support of Movember participants and 2010 is set to be the biggest year yet.

Each year, Movember is responsible for the spouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world. It’s a fun way to drive awareness of and raise funds for serious men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression, with proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Beyond Blue.

To join the Grill’d Guild, gentlemen and gentle ladies simply need to register at Movember and raise $40. They will then receive a special email from Movember which guides them through the Grill’d Guild initiation.
