Shane Bracken joins Subway as country director of ANZ
His areas of focus include driving brand growth and profit.
With a new country director in Shane Bracken, Subway looks to continue its success and growth Down Under. Bracken takes on the role held by Scott Buckman, who was appointed acting country director for ANZ in January 2022.
With over 20 years of experience in managing and driving growth for brands, Bracken will help Subway regain its foothold in the Australian and New Zealand markets, focusing on driving brand growth and increasing profit and market share.
Bracken has extensive experience in the hospitality and QSR industry and is excited to bring his knowledge to Subway.
“Subway has been part of my career journey for more than 20 years and to be taking on this key leadership role for ANZ with a goal to continue to propel the brand upwards, is amazing to say the least,” said Bracken.
Bracken has held senior leadership roles in two of Asia Pacific and ANZ's major QSR food and packaging companies, Kerry Taste & Nutrition and Detmold Packaging. He has significant commercial, operations, procurement, supply chain, quality health and safety, and environmental sustainability expertise from his previous roles.
Bracken applauded Subway's "highly-functional" leadership during these tough times, and is looking forward to working with the team to continue innovating and providing an amazing customer experience.
“From the short time I’ve already had with the Subway team, they are a solid, professional team with the same goal in mind: focusing on the Subway guest and continuing to deliver quality taste and innovation.”
Eric Foo, regional president, Asia Pacific, Subway added, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott Buckman for his dedication and continued hard work maintaining the standard of the brand and leading the team so successfully, during this transitional period.”
Bracken will be based in Subway's Brisbane office and will formally start his role on 23 May 2022.
