Take an inside look at Pie Face’s hook up with OTR
They signed a 2-year deal with OTR.
Pie Face recently announced that the brand has sealed an 80-store deal with On The Run convenience stores in South Australia.
On The Run will be retailing a range of Pie Face products, with some new products especially designed for OTR customers.
Below is a Q&A with Andrew Lyme, Pie Face Commercial Manager.
QSR Media: What made you choose to partner with OTR? How extensively will they push Pie Face pies in their stores (in-store ads, prominent placement, etc)?
Lyme: OTR are the most prominent and successful petrol and convenience operator in SA and are completely focussed on in-store operations and customer service.
Pie Face does not currently operate any retail stores in SA, so partnering with OTR was a logical solution to introduce Pie Face to this market.
We are satisfied with the level of marketing and in-store Point Of Sale that forms this agreement.
We are like-minded in so far as we are both committed to doing what is needed to correctly handle, merchandize and promote the sale of Pie Face product and increasing hot pastry sales across the OTR network.
QSR Media: How will you ensure that the pies served in the OTR convenience stores are of the same quality as those served from Pie Face stores? Any supply chain challenges you expect and how do you plan to solve them?
Lyme: Our product will be handled in a very similar way to the Pie Face network, including being distributed to stores frozen, ready to be baked and merchandized in-store.
There are very limited major supply chain issues in this case. Our team is and will continue to work very closely with OTR to ensure proper training, handling and compliance processes are followed.
