Oporto set to launch two stores in Sri Lanka
Their CEO aims for the brand to be the "most craved food experience on earth."
Oporto has confirmed that they are opening sites in Sri Lanka in partnership with their franchisor, Ataraxia Capital Partners.
They will have their first location at the international Food Atrium in Colombo City Centre Mall by mid-September and to expect another store to open at Shangri-La’s One Mall Food Atrium by early 2019.
Partner and co-founder of Ataraxia Capital Partners, Sharad Sri, said that the Sri Lankans have been waiting for the restaurant to come to town.
“It really celebrates our love of chicken, Portuguese heritage and of course chilli. We have always loved the Oporto brand and are really delighted to add this to the existing Ataraxia Foods portfolio,” he says.
“For over 30 years Oporto has been serving Aussies our famous Bondi Burger and flame grilled Portuguese chicken. We are so proud of our Portuguese heritage and Australian upbringing, and we aim to feed millennials’ appetite for food adventure to become the most craved food experience on earth,” Oporto CEO Craig Tozer says.
“It is an honour for us to now share our passion with Sri Lankans,” he added.
Oporto also has upcoming plans to launch 25 more stores in Australia.
