Mad Mex opens first Singapore restaurant, eyes first Malaysian outlet by December
The opening follows the chain’s strategic partnership with 4Fingers announced in 2018.
Mad Mex continues its international expansion after opening its first Singapore restaurant opening, with plans to open in Malaysia in December this year.
Situated at Singapore’s Marina Bay Financial district, the Australia-headquartered Mexican chain’s first Asia location is a direct result of its 2018 partnership with 4Fingers.
Both brands are expected to leverage local market knowledge in growing both brands in Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
The push into Singapore and Malaysia is Mad Mex’s second international venture following its expansion into New Zealand in 2013. Mad Mex now has 15 restaurants in New Zealand with plans for three more openings in 2019.
The Asian expansion announcement also comes as Mad Mex reveals its like for like sales of +6.5% and 70 consecutive weeks of sales growth in Australia in FY19, which they say is their “strongest financial year to date."
“South East Asia is in the midst of a food revolution towards healthy eating, and we believe Mad Mex’s healthy and quality positioning will resonate with local customers. We are very excited by the opportunity and we have big plans for the next five years,” Mad Mex founder Clovis Young said.
