Hot new QSR concept Vapiano opens first Sydney store
It is located on the corner of King and York Street.
Italian restaurant, Vapiano, launched its first outlet in Sydney’s CBD on the corner of King and York Street.
The brand reported that the new King Street store is doing very well since its opening last 16 December 2013.
Below is a Q&A with Will Cooke, Owner of Vapiano Australia.
QSR Media: How is your Sydney store going?
Cooke: It has been received extremely well and is trading very similar to Albert Lane, Brisbane in regards to sales turnover.
QSR Media: What's surprised you in the opening?
Cooke: Given we opened just prior to Christmas we were surprised how busy it was during the Christmas and New Year period as we expected once the offices closed down for Christmas that it would not be as busy until Mid January.
QSR Media: What LAM initiatives are you doing to attract local custom?
Cooke: We have invited many food bloggers into the restaurant, we held our Grand Opening Party on the16th of December with over 300 guests that was extremely well received.
We have provided vouchers to all local business and retailers letting them know we are here and opened and we visited 75% of all hotel concierges prior to opening with an invite to come in and experience Vapiano.
QSR Media: Any other comments?
Cooke: We are extremely happy with the response to date and we believe we have really transformed the space and that corner of Sydney with a beautiful fit out.
